Executive Summary

PropGPT is working because it found the highest-frequency, highest-anxiety moment in American consumer sports betting, the ten minutes before a casual bettor locks a player-prop parlay, and sold a verdict for that moment at impulse pricing. The mechanism is not a better prediction model. It is workflow compression plus pricing arbitrage: the app collapses an hour of spreadsheet-and-Twitter research into a single letter grade, prices it at $9.99 a week (a number that reads like a bet, not like software), and distributes it entirely through the App Store, where betting intent already searches for "props" and "AI picks." The product launched September 9, 20241 with near-zero revenue for eight months, then gross charge volume in the local TrustMRR history jumped from roughly $2,000 a month to $25,000 in June 2025, and reached $107,688 in May 2026.2 That 48x ramp in fourteen months (March 2025 to May 2026) happened with no website, no published track record, and no press footprint we could find, which is the most instructive fact in this teardown. Distribution intent plus impulse pricing beat institutional credibility, at least to this revenue level.

What would falsify the thesis: a published, audited track record showing the model itself drives retention (that would make this a prediction-quality story), or evidence of a large paid-acquisition budget (that would make it a media-buying story). Neither surfaced in this research. The falsifiable prediction: if pricing and store placement are the engine, gross charges should sag hard in the July to August 2026 sports lull and re-accelerate in September with the NFL; the 2025 history already shows exactly that shape, with August 2025 down 18 percent from July 2025.2
